Cusps and Capabilities is the premier Applied Behavior Analysis Center in the area. We utilize the latest evidence-based research to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for our clients. Through the science of ABA therapy we have demonstrated our abilities to transform the lives of our clients and their families who have been affected by Autism and related disorders. In our short time in operation, we have become recognized as a facility that achieves results. Who Are We?
Cusps and Capabilities, LLC is a local family owned private group practice which provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Cusps and Capabilities LLC provides in home, clinic, and school therapy to children ages 2-and up. We specialize in Early Intervention and are credentialed through Medicaid, BCBS, Cigna and other private insurances.
Why ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It is the only evidence-based treatment for ASD, and focuses on improving educational and socially significant behaviors. These behaviors often include tantrums, aggression, self-stimulatory and self-injurious behaviors. ABA therapy applies the understanding of how behavior works to real life situations. Our BCBA’s identify goals to be targeted that are individualized based on each learner and our therapists implement treatment with close supervision. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or prohibit effective learning. The methods of behavior analysis have been used and studied for decades. They have helped many kinds of learners gain different skills – from healthier lifestyles to learning a new language. In our situation, we apply ABA to help children with autism and related developmental disorders prepare for less restrictive environments. We utilize it to aid in increasing language and communication skills, improving attention and focus, social skills, cognition, and school readiness for our clients. In addition, we apply ABA techniques to decrease problem behaviors. Positive reinforcement is one of the main strategies we implement here at Cusps and Capabilities, LLC. When a behavior is followed by something that is valued (a reward), a person is more likely to repeat that behavior. These positive rewards encourage the continued use of the skill. Over time, this leads to meaningful behavior change.
Cusps and Capabilities, LLC is staffed by a caring team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts as well as qualified and certified therapist who have undergone hours of extensive training.
